And So It Goes With God: a quote from Life of Pi, a poem woven around it

(And so it
goes with
     God.)
   We tell
ourselves
stories so we
may make
sense of Life,
the universe,
everything,
     (42)
which by
no means
excludes
God. Maybe
neither story
makes true
sense of
Pi's experience,
simply because
by telling it,
he alters it,
omits things,
elaborates on
things, exemplifies
things. (The
story flows
through the
teller's
experience,
and is
translated by
the hearer's
mindset,
personality.)
The story
is never quite
just itself
by itself.
(And so it
goes with
     God)
