Art Page (update 6/19/14)

3rd Art Class 1.31.14
Drew the same little glass bottle with a cork lid again. My ellipse at the top of the pottery goblet could do better.
Not actually for art class, just a casual sketch for practice on my own that turned out alright
Third art class drawing, 1/17/14
Self-portrait, not intended, but it turned into that.
2nd art class 1.24.17
I missed half the class because I was working at the gallery that day, so this was drawn  there with items I found around the gallery. The lesson that day was cross-hatching instead of smudging for shadow and studying how to draw the folds in cloth.
4th art class 2/14/14
I always start the dang drawing too big and run out of room on the page, especially when I'm drawing more than one subject, as you can well see. (Also, the order these photos appear on the page seem entirely subject to whim. Sorry. I'd love to have them appear from the most recent at the top of the page to the oldest at the bottom, but at this time, I have no idea how to do that.)
5th art class 2/21/14
Ha. This thing looked better yesterday... Still, the buildings aren't bad. The cars look terribly cartoonish, but I was sort of going for that. The street is still way too steep, but seriously, you have no idea how many times I erased that stupid car in the back and redrew it. I think the whole thing looks better in real life. But hey, I learned a lot during that lesson and actually didn't do half bad. My teacher liked the composition.
7th Art Class, 3.7.14Value drawing with watercolor, the first week we started working in paint. A classmate let me use her watercolors because I didn't have any oil paints yet and L was disdainful of the watercolors I brought.

First oil painting, I worked on this most of the winter and some of the spring. It was pretty interesting to watch the trees leaf out over the course of painting it.

Newest one, finished 6/13/14
