We have the coolest quote book :)

"Yes, there is a Nirvana: it is in leading your sheep to a green pasture, and in putting your child to sleep, and in writing the last line of your poem."
~Kahlil Gibran

  1. Ah yes, just the man I was looking for. His wisdom doesn't rush at you, it approaches you slowly but confidently, to take you by the hand and lead you into the horizon.

If there was one 'tag of consequence' to refer to a curious raven, where would you lead him?

  2. I think it would lead him to Anne Frank and Kahlil Gibran, but I could not say much more than that. What does he think?

  3. He thinks naught but in circles. But the circles are rolling quietly along.

I am reading Gibran's 'Thoughts and Meditations,' or rather, I am devouring it.

  4. It is delicious, is it not? Have you read the chapter on love, or the meaning thereof yet? I enjoy reading the chapters one a day, all the better to quietly digest and think about. I had never thought to figure out what love is to me until today, but my journal now boasts almost a whole page on the subject, whilst my mind continues to fit it's cogs to the subject further.

  5. A hearty spiritual meal. I never thought to read one meditation a day, that sounds like an excellent way to read it. I read the chapter on love yesterday, and I listened deeply to the passerby at the door of the temple, only to hear the final words "Life is divided into two halves, one frozen, one aflame; the burning half is love." I hope to be swallowed by that flame.

And what life did yourjournal and your mind yield yesterday?

  6. That is how I read most of my school books. Drawn out, pored over, and savored. I tend to devour everything else :) I think you already are.

It yielded a sort of Whisper and Howl poem, full or harmonizing contradictions, and God.

  7. It really is. It's a flame in and of itself, but not the kind which burns. It's the fire of the burning bush, when one man placed his hand into it without injury, then heard it speak.

I'd like to say the same of my school books, but they're mostly textbooks written by apathetic professors who were trying to make use of their Ph.D. :)
