Cloths for indigo dying

Dinner Day
Flash, burn. Tastebuds now
Erased from existence. No
Flavor for next week.

Day Job
A dance through kitchen.
Hands dipping, dripping water.
Flow through space, order.

Only Part of the Picture
Long day, neutral shades.
Fall, winding down after
Summer long party.

Veil
Innocent, like pink
Cheeks and white hands, dovetailing
Heart, mind seamlessly.
Monday, November 3, 2014
Not that bitter about daylight savings time, just generally wiped out.
Too tired to do this.
Doing it anyway, new
Sunrise, sunset, damned.

November Second
Gathering thoughts, but
Unlike swiss chard harvest, no
Frozen memories.

Spoiled Soup
I set the lid on top
And it vanished
Until the next morning,
When my brother confronted me
Stern, narrow face,
And then my mother,
"Why did you leave the soup out last night?"
It wasn't very good anyway... I replied,
Attempting to veil one shortcoming with another,
Then ducking out the door
To disappear the pot's contents once again,
This time into the stomachs of our chickens.
